Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford Area, Inc. will be opening a new Goodwill Superstore on Route 20 in Westfield (the former CVS building at 47-51 Franklin Street). Goodwill is currently remodeling the facility to prepare for the store’s grand opening, scheduled for early August.
“We are excited about opening in Westfield,” says Goodwill’s president Steve Mundahl. “Shoppers are going to be delighted with the many changes that Goodwill is bringing to the store. Westfield is the first of several Goodwill Superstores that we are planning to open.
Donations of gently used clothing, housewares, toys and shoes are currently being accepted at the Westfield location daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Attendants will be on site to offer tax receipts. Details on items that
Goodwill can and cannot accept as donations can be found online.
Supporting the new Westfield retail store with frequent donations impacts the lives of hundreds of individuals in the Pioneer Valley. Watch for the Grand Opening, coming soon! Proceeds from all donations stay local. Community donations of clothing or other household items begin the cycle of helping Goodwill prepare people for the workforce. Donated goods provide a means for individuals with disabilities and disadvantages to gain valuable work experience and supported living assistance. Eighty-four cents of every dollar generated by the sale of community donations is used directly by Goodwill programs, supporting hundreds of area residents.
Since 1925, Goodwill Industries of the Springfield/Hartford area has been collecting and reselling goods in order to fund job training and career services. Goodwill’s mission is to create a better community through partnerships in employment, education and life enrichment.
