Goodwill Visits Capitol Hill
June 29, 2007
On June 13, 2007, your Goodwill Team visited the Capitol Hill offices to visit with Congressman Richard Neal (2nd District MA) and with Congressman John Larson’s dedicated staff (1st District CT). Later that evening, at a Congressional Reception hosted inside our nation’s Capitol Building, ESS Springfield & GSE Hartford were awarded a beautiful glass trophy and $5,000 for placing 2nd in a national engineering contest (see last month’s newsletter). Anne Kaboray and Cathy Shanley represented Goodwill “on the Hill” as they say in D.C. and received the awards.
The awards were presented to the Goodwill Team and to Melissa Eagan and Eric Haffner of Western New England College by the CEO of NISH (National Industries for the Severely Handicapped). Congressmen and Senators from many states were there to watch the festivities. It was a great honor for our Goodwill and our Goodwill staff.
Look for more news regarding our area Legislators: we are hoping to get both Congressman Neal of Springfield and Congressman Larson of Hartford to visit each of our facilities to celebrate the work of our consumers and staff!
